[EN] Yesterday I recieved my first shipment of teas from Tealyra, 11 different black ones from India, China, Taiwan and Japan, from Montreal to a small rural town in Alberta in onlyfour days. A sturdy box helped ensure the individual, thick, zip-sealing packages were well protected en route.

Being of Irish upbringing starting out with five cups ot tea a day from the age of four (breakfast, lunch, afternoon, dinner, evening milky tea), I have loved beginning a day with a strong cup of Assam tea or Assam-Ceylon blend. This morning I had my first cup of Tealyra: the Assam Khagorijan Strong. My first impression was how clean, malty, smooth and velvety it was on the palate. As it approaches one's throat, there is a slightly fruity, aromatic quality to it, adding to the depth of flavour notes. In ways it reminded me of Assam Thowra, which I used to drink about 30y ago. I am glad that I ordered 100g as I think I need one more cup this morning.

If this tea is any indication, I cannot wait until I start to try the other ones along with our daughter trying them, as she is continuing the tradition :)

[EN] The most Assam-y Assam, I think; Khagorijan Strong could hold the spoon straight up. It's strong enough to have replaced my morning coffee. I've gotten it two years running and though it isn't my most favourite tea in the world, it keeps making it's way into my cart. It blends with chai spices nicely while retaining its own identity, but I prefer it straight. It gains a whole different character with milk and sugar some might enjoy; the creaminess of the milk bringing out the rosy undercurrents.
